New Introduction to Digital Fine Art Printing workshop

A new workshop in January 2011 has been designed for digital landscape photographers who want to create exhibition-standard colour prints but without going through a steep learning curve or long periods sat at the computer. Our new Introduction to Digital Fine Art Printing Workshop shows how printing can be enjoyed as a rewarding craft rather than purely a time-consuming mix of science and technology and will appeal to photographers who want to produce a print that is faithful to how they visualised the scene out on location.

The website has been updated again with many excellent new photographs from our summer 2010 landscape photography courses and workshops in the Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland and Lake District. Jeff Rogers captured a superb splash of Swaledale light in July, and Julie Wilks waited patiently in the dunes at Budle Bay on a memorable June evening in Northumberland, while Richard Bryant really made the most out of a Dales downpour.

The Digital Dawn

With The Digital Dawn's landscape photography courses and workshops in Northumberland, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and in Scotland, the Isle of Skye, Ullapool and Torridon now full for 2010, photographers are booking ahead for next year. Our first 2011 four-day Digital Landscape Photography Course in Northumberland runs March 1st - 4th. This course is designed to teach you the entire photographic process from the creative enjoyment of finding and making the image out on location, to learning all the technical aspects of using your digital SLR camera to its full potential. The final section explains how to set up your computer and monitor, then shows you how to use the Photoshop imaging software to produce a professional-standard print to take home. As with all Digital Dawn courses there is just five photographers per course and you receive one-to-one tuition from course leader Garry Brannigan, who does not make his own photographs while out on location. Eleanor Coate made the exciting image above as a spectacular Northumberland dawn unfolded during a previous March Digital Dawn course. To join us in March 2011 click the link below.
